How to change fuel filter?

I know some of the basics, but i just wanna be sure. I have an 02 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, i know where the filter is located but is there anything else i should know. Im would like someone who has done this on a car like mine, but any info is appreciated thanks. How to change fuel filter?
first, relieve the fuel system pressure through the schrader valve. this is on the fuel rail, I think to the left it on your engine. put a rag under the valve and push the plunger in.fuel will come out, it can go everywhere if not careful. now, i believe your filter has different connections on each side of it, probably a quick disconnect on one side, and a screw-in on the other. If your car has a lot of miles on it, it will complicate the job, but its still do-able. if this is the configuration you have, undo the quick disconnect, this one i believe is done by pushing the plastic pieces inward then pulling the line off. then, hold the hex head part of the fuel line fitting, and spin the filter itself to unscrew it. this is the way i suggest doing these if possible because if you try to unscrew the line and not the filter the line will often break to to rust. How to change fuel filter?
Relieve the pressure of the fuel line. One way you can do this is by turning on the vehicle and pull the appropriate fuse and let the engine die. I changed a fuel filter once and it was a messy job with gas coming out of the fuel line (there's no pressure but there's still gasoline in the line). I don't think it's worth the hassle for me to do it again but if money is an issue and couldn't pay the $50.00 to get it done I would do it again.
