2004 merc. 50hp 4 stroke efi-in line fuel filter change?

I would like to know how to change the in line filter, I know there are 2 filters-I changed the one in plain view. I can't seem to find the other one. I think it may be buried under lower cowl, under wires.

Basically wanted to know exactly where it is and how to get to it?

And how difficult is this to do?2004 merc. 50hp 4 stroke efi-in line fuel filter change?
Have you changed the inline filter that is in the line from the fuel connector to the pump? The other one is attached to the injector pump, which is located inside the vapor seperator, usually this does not have to be changed unless you have had a severe water/dirt problem.

Unfortunately, with EFI motors, the only real way to diagnose a fuel problem is with a CDS scan from a dealer. If it runs smooth at 3200, it may be a TPS fault, but it also may be about 20 other things. You say it idles erratic, if it is rough running at idle and top end, start by checking for spark on all 4 cylinders. There is a filter on the port side, tucked in along the wiring harness, but you should be able to see that one, if not, follow the fuel line with your hand.2004 merc. 50hp 4 stroke efi-in line fuel filter change?

Built in gas tank or portable?

Built-In: How about right as the fuel line comes out of the gas tank?

Just guessing without seeing the engine.

Follow your fuel line all the way and see what you can find out.

Good luck
