Changing Fuel Filter?

I would like to know if anyone has advice on how to change an in-line fuel filter i know the basic process but is there anything i should look out for Changing Fuel Filter?
Best bet is to relieve the fuel pressure before you undo the line.

All you need to do is disconnect the fuse for the fuel injection system.

Then start the vehicle and let it use the fuel in the line. The car will die then the pressure should be relieved.

This way fuel should splatter much less.

Just don't forget to replace fuse when done.

Important and correct.

50 PSI coming at you probably is not a good feeling.Changing Fuel Filter?
its a basic proceedure, only suggestion i would make is.. Consider that the threads of a fuel filter are very big. The can easily be cross threaded. If you cross thread a fuel filter expect to see what your car looks like in flames. Thats very likely result. Also, if its in the gas tank... good freaking luck...Changing Fuel Filter?
make sure that the filter is for the type of motor you have. I mean, it is different for carburator cars and for injection cars.

then there is a certain flow direction that you have to make sure is right. look for arrows from side of it.

i suggest that if the filter is under car, assemble two tighteners instead of one for the hoses in both side of filter.

as a last tip, put some hand grease before you start working. when gasoline spills, iit wont irritate your hands so much and its easier to wash hands after work.Changing Fuel Filter?
