Can someone please tell me what how do a car reacts when its time to change the fuel filters? What are possible effects of having a bad fuel filter on a car?
A fuel filter could be the problem, but it is more likely that you are having an ignition problem, and a plug is either not firing, or firing out of sequence. Change your plugs, make sure your plug wires are going to the correct cylinder, and that they make good contact with the plugs, and make sure your plugs are well connected at the distributor. You may have a bad plug, a bad plug cable, water in the distributor, or a valve cover gasket that is allowing oil into a cylinder. If it is the latter, one of the plugs you pull should have oil all over the bottom of it.What are possible effects of having a bad fuel filter on a car?
It won't want to accelerate hard, or run good at high speeds. If there's any doubt, change the filter. They are cheap! What are possible effects of having a bad fuel filter on a car?
If it is the fuel filter, your engine is starved for gas so you can expect stalling, hard starting, sputtering and those sort of symptoms. If in doubt, change the filter. They are cheap and it never hurts to have a fresh one in there. What are possible effects of having a bad fuel filter on a car?
